about

This month I wanted to share songs that have inspired me through the last 20 odd years that would fit together as a mini soundtrack to my writing life so far and capture in the broadest sense that feeling of what has been, to make way for what is to come, letting go to move on. There’s a part of me in all these songs, I’m not sure which part of me it is but I can feel it, the moment each track starts.
I honestly think without the first track I may not have ever had the deep rooted belief that song writing is how I wanted to spend my life, if ever a song is in your blood then it’s this. My brother and Dad and I spent hours never getting the harmonies right and it bringing us to tears of laughter at ust how brilliant they are, we still do now. The teenager in me is so grateful that this was given to him, the gift of songs, and it’s this gift that all these years later keeps on giving.
With love and thanks for sticking with me,
C.
